Special Area Plans

In August of 2007, the Williamson County Comprehensive Land Use Plan identified four Villages which would undergo individual studies, known as a Special Area Plans.  These plans seek to provide a more specified focus on each of the defined Villages. 

Though the Villages identified in Williamson County are distinctive from one another, they all share the following similarities: 
  • Broader mix of uses than other areas;
  • Compact development pattern;
  • Crossroad community of historical significance;
  • Limited infrastructure; and
  • Located in areas with increased growth pressure.
As outlined in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, the four Villages are identified as:

The Grassland Village Special Area Plan Has Been Adopted!



The Grassland Village Plan was adopted by the Williamson County Planning Commission on March 13, 2014 during their regularly scheduled meeting time.  On May 12, 2014, the Plan was endorsed by the Williamson County Board of Commissioners.

Upcoming Public Hearings



Two public hearings will be held in regard to the proposed development (zoning) standards for the Grassland Village.  Dates and times are listed below, as well as outlined on the Planning Calendar located on the right side of the screen.

Public Hearing #1 -- Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 7:00 PM during the regularly scheduled Williamson County Regional Planning Commission meeting.

Public Hearing #2 -- Monday, October 12, 2015 at 7:00 PM during the regularly scheduled Williamson County Commission meeting.
