Judge Ernie Williams

Judge Ernie Williams was appointed to General Sessions Court, Division II, in 2013. Judge Williams is a native of Wilson County, Tennessee. He graduated from Ketron High School in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 1965. Judge Williams graduated from the University of Tennessee in December of 1974 and obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law in May of 1980. He has lived in Williamson County since June of 1979 and has been a practicing attorney for 33 years.

Judge Williams has 2 children, 1 stepson, and 4 grandchildren. He served as United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee being appointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1991 through December of 1993. He served on the County Commission as a representative of the 9th District of which he was appointed to fill in for his wife upon her death in 2002.

Judge Williams is a Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1965-1969, being both a Vietnam Veteran and Color Sgt. of the Marine Corp. when he served in Washington, DC.

He is past chairman and board member of My Friend's House and has served on numerous professional legal associations.
