Delinquent Taxes
Overview

In Williamson County, suits filed by the counties and cities to collect delinquent taxes are filed in Chancery Court.

Upon the filing of the lawsuit, the Clerk and Master collects the delinquent taxes, plus statutory interest and penalty, court costs and attorney fees. By April 1 of each year, a lawsuit has been filed for collection of property taxes unpaid for the previous two years.
For example, an April 2007 lawsuit was filed was against delinquent taxpayers for taxes due for the tax year 2005.

Upon proper notice, summons, and hearing before the court, the property may be sold at auction. Because interest and penalties accrue each month and court costs are incurred throughout each month, please call (615) 790-5428 for current tax amount due.
