Williamson County Mayor, Rogers Anderson is pleased to announce that Williamson County Government has been recognized as a Fit-Friendly Worksite. For those of you not familiar with the Fit-Friendly Worksites Recognition program, it is an award given by the American Heart Association’s “My Heart-My Life.” initiative. It is intended to be a catalyst for vpositive change in the workplace across America and right here in Williamson County. It recognizes worksites for making the health and wellness of their employees a priority. Mayor Anderson stated that County Government has been recognized at the Gold level, which means that:
We offer all employees physical activity support at the worksite.
We have increased the number of healthy eating options available to you at the worksite. We promote a wellness culture at the worksite.
We embrace at least nine criteria as outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture. “As a Fit-Friendly Worksite, we have adopted the spirit of the initiative and have the vision to try improving the health and wellness of employees and the worksite. I would like to thank the staff of the Benefits Department for coordinating efforts for our employees, along with elected officials and department heads. I’d also like to thank Cigna for their partnership and support in helping us achieve this distinction and to each employee for their participation in placing an emphasis on their personal health and well-being.”
Rogers C. Anderson – Mayor
A Healthier You
Williamson County has a challenge for you! “A Healthier You” campaign is a health promotion and awareness program for Employees in providing them with valuable and actionable information. The direction of this campaign is to show that little things we do in our daily lives can make “A Healthier You” physically, mentally, environmentally or even spiritually. We all need to be challenged differently and may need to focus on different challenges at different times during the year.
