Detention Training Academy

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office has established a Detention Training Academy (DTA) for all Deputy Sheriff Recruits. Deputy Sheriff Recruits go through vigorous training over many types of situations they may encounter as a Deputy Sheriff in the Detention Division of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office. DTA is a six week training academy that takes place at the John. I. Easley, Jr. Criminal Justice Center. Deputies are also required to attend a 40 hour in-service refresher training course annually. Courses of instruction are presented by the Detention Training Academy Staff, along with guest instructors from each of their respective specialties.

Upon successful completion of the Detention Training Academy the recruits will attend a graduation ceremony and be presented with their badges and certificates. Family and friends are welcomed to attend graduation and show their support for the Deputies.
