History

Williamson County Archives was established in 1993 by the Williamson County Commission. In 2006, the Archives relocated from the basement of the Five Points Post Office in Franklin to the former public library building across the street. The facility was repurposed into an archival research center and local history museum. The new Williamson County Archives and Museum opened to the public in May 2006. Following the retirement of the county’s first archivist, the building was named the Louise G. Lynch Archives and Museum in her honor.
